Santeetlah Marina is the only full service marina on Lake Santeetlah.

Serving all of your boating pleasures on an unspoiled mountain lake, once known as "Lake in the Sky". We provide fuel, bait, tackle, boat rentals, equipment rentals, boat launching, dock space, cabin rentals, and information on lake fishing. Located 7 miles north of Robbinsville just off of Hwy 129 on Thunderbird Mountain Road. Open 7 days a week from April 1 to October 31.

Lake Santeetlah is surrounded by the Cheoah District of the Nantahala National Forest. While the lake surface and land below the high water level is owned and managed by Tapoco, Inc., almost 80 percent of the shoreline is public land managed by the Forest Service. Santeetlah Marina and the surrounding property have an interesting history dating back to the early 1960's with the development of Thunderbird Mountain. Visit our History Page for more information.

Lake Santeetlah has a wide variety of fish. The most popular being smallmouth bass, largemouth bass and walleye. Until recently Lake Santeetlah was home to the state record largemouth and walleye. Lake Santeetlah also has a good population of crappie, bream and lake trout. Fishing licenses are required and can be purchased at the marina.

More than 50 primitive campsites are scattered around the lake. These sites have few facilities: no toilets, no water faucets, no fire grills, and best of all no fee or permit. See our Map of Lake Santeetlah for campsite locations.
